Our long term Junior Training Development Pathway is an 8-10 year plan that generally progresses. All development stages are on a continuum and movement can occur between stages as the participant improves and matures chronologically, physically and mentally. Our USPTA certified coaches will ensure that each participant advances according to his or her ability throughout the player’s junior development.
The program is for the youngest tennis fan, who with the help of a parent, will work on hand-eye coordination and ABC’s (agility, balance and coordination). This class is developmental in nature and will expose players to stroke mechanics and on court movement through fun, high energy games. Parent participation is required!
Our Red Ball program is the perfect opportunity for your child to learn the FUNdamentals of tennis. Activities focus on building agility, balance and coordination skills (The ABC’s), while developing the on-court skills needed to serve, rally, and score. Prior to moving to the next stage of our program, these players will be able to demonstrate understanding of basic technique and maintain that technique during rallies.
At this stage of the pathway, our junior players have chosen tennis as one of their primary sports. This group is fundamentally sound in both movement and technique and are beginning to work on more advanced patterns of play utilizing the larger court space. Dynamic balance, experimentation with various tactics and strategies and development of “weapons” all become a part of the tennis player’s game.
Green Ball builds on the skills and mechanics developed in the Orange Ball program. This class introduces footwork patterns, spin mechanics on both the serve and ground strokes and tactical awareness. Specifically, each player learns to develop areas of strength in their game and how to use them to their advantage.
Yellow Ball is a tournament-level training classes that is part of our yellow ball pathway for children 10 and older. This program will challenge players with high intensity training sessions. Practices will consist of a 30-minute fitness session followed by intense tennis training involving fundamentals and tactics.
